Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
You will be comforted by the familiar aromas of cherry pie, black plums, and dried rose petals followed by a hint of cola and minerals to pique your interest. The wine provides all the depths of fruit of previous vintages balanced with new spice, and bright acidity. These flavors linger on the palate which only extends the pleasure of each sip.
Production Notes
As with previous years we were able to bin ferment without the addition of commercial yeasts which helps the wine truly express what is special about this vineyard. When it came time to press, the wine was handled with a softer touch leading to a lighter color than previous vintages. Nonetheless, it possesses all of the characteristics of our Bacigalupi lovers covet.
Winemaker Notes
“This fruit-forward, beautiful Pinot Noir comes from the north end of Russian River Valley. The Bacigalupi family is famous for their Chardonnay, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir and evidence of this fame is in the bottle. Working with this fruit is a joy year in and year out.” - Kirk Venge, Winemaker
Food Pairing Notes
This wine is delicious enough to stand on its own, but it also pairs wonderfully with a variety of dishes that bring us comfort. For a quiet night at home, savor it alongside an oven-roasted pork belly, Carbonara pasta or beef and mushroom Empanadas
