2017 Calesa Pinot Noir
Calesa Vineyard, Sonoma Coast
The Calesa Pinot Noir shows another side of the grape with finesse and elegance. This delicious wine, which was fermented with its own native yeasts, is overflowing with layered aromas of ripe plums, black cherries, and strawberry candy alongside sweet spices and herbs. On the palate, its complexity showcases even more red fruit flavors with cherry and pomegranate seeds along with moderate tannins and plenty of acid to keep this wine tasting fresh and balanced with an extra-long finish. What a treat it is to have two Pinots that showcase unique terroirs and reflect the diversity that this noble variety has to offer.

Vineyard Notes
The Calesa Vineyard is nestled within the dramatic rolling hills of Sonoma County’s ‘Petaluma Gap’ AVA. A truly unique spot due to the influence of cool wind and fog that come through the San Pablo Bay up to the town of Petaluma due to a break in the coastal mountains. This cooling effect makes the area a premier place for growing high end, cool-climate Pinot Noir grapes.
Winemaker Notes
“I just love the stylishness of this vineyard. Terroir is what this wine is entirely about! Situated on a rock and gravel hillside, swept by the quick Bay air, you can touch, smell and taste the influence of what makes Petaluma Gap so special.” - Kirk Venge, Winemaker
Food Pairing Notes
While this wine is delicious enough to stand on its own, it also pairs wonderfully with a variety of dishes. For a quiet night at home, savor it alongside a Margherita pizza or grilled pork chop. Or treat yourself, and have a glass with a slice of apple pie.
