For the 2018 vintage we were again able to extend barrel aging to 23 months to increase the depth and complexity. If you loved the 2014 vintage for its smooth round mouthfeel, the 2018 is surely to be your new favorite. The aromatics emit layers on the nose. The most prominent being lush, red, and black fruit with refined aromas of leather, cassis and rose petal. That refinement carries through to the palate where it showcases flavors of ripe plum and black currant. As you dive deeper, these fruit qualities are matched with bitter dark chocolate and coffee. The mocha finish perfectly integrates the soft, fine tannins and bright acidity. This wine is beautiful now but has all the qualities needed to age.

This, our oldest Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, is the perfect complement to any gathering where a fine wine is required. With each vintage we look to perfect the wine that started it all for us in 2012. For the 2018 vintage we were again able to extend barrel aging to 23 months to increase the depth and complexity. “I truthfully believe Laki Vassiliadis would be quite proud today of what has become of his namesake vineyard. For us making this wine, the greatest challenge was in understanding the old vines planted there decades ago and allowing them the opportunity to communicate what this vineyard collectively has to say through the climate, soil and vine. I believe ’18 was a fantastic vintage to find the voice in these old vines.”
Food Pairing Notes
This classic example of premium Napa Cabernet Sauvignon will pair well with the hearty dishes we all love to indulge in from time to time. The complexity of the palate makes it the perfect pair to Korean Short Ribs with a sweet glaze, duck molé or polenta with a spicy tomato sauce. For the perfect end, finish the meal dark chocolate espresso beans.
